Planning your VFX

A clear brief helps us assess the shots, plan the work and prepare for review. Here is what to bring to the first conversation.

  • Your edit and shot list

Share a reference edit and identify the shots that need effects. A shot list with timecodes and a short description of each change gives us a clear starting point.

  • Footage and references

Include visual references and details of the source footage. Before transferring files, confirm the resolution, colour workflow and any clean plates or additional elements needed.

  • Feedback and revisions

Plan who will review the shots and how feedback will be collected. Timecoded, consolidated notes make it easier to track changes and keep the work aligned with your brief.

  • Finishing and delivery

Share your deadline and delivery specifications at the start. Agree how completed VFX shots will return to the edit and colour grade, including file formats and any extra frames.

8 questions

What VFX services do you offer in Dubai?

We provide compositing, motion tracking, green screen keying, set extensions, matte painting, particle simulations, wire and object removal, and beauty retouching. Our Dubai studio works on films, commercials, television and digital content for production teams, agencies and brands.

How much does VFX cost?

The scope depends on the number and length of shots, the complexity of the effects, the source footage and the review rounds. A simple cleanup and a digital environment require different amounts of work. Request a VFX quote with your edit, shot list, references and deadline.

How long does VFX work take?

Timing depends on the shot count, camera movement, detail to rebuild and the type of effect. Review rounds and delivery formats also affect the schedule. Share representative footage and your deadline early so we can assess the work and plan the next steps.

What should I send before VFX work begins?

Start with a reference edit, timecoded shot list, description of the required effects and visual references. Include camera and recording details, your intended colour workflow and delivery requirements. Confirm the file transfer, original media and any clean plates with us before sending the full project.

Can you remove unwanted objects from moving shots?

Yes. Motion tracking and cleanup let us follow an object through the shot and rebuild the image behind it. Feasibility depends on what the object covers, camera movement, motion blur and the available background detail. Send the full shot so we can assess the approach.

Do I need to shoot against a green screen?

A green screen can help separate a subject from the background, but it is not needed for every effect. The right setup depends on the shot, lighting, hair detail and subject movement. Share your planned scene before filming so we can discuss what the effect will need.

How does VFX fit with editing and colour grading?

Agree the edit timing and colour workflow before the effects work begins. VFX shots need consistent source files, frame ranges and version tracking so they can return to the timeline correctly. Mile Studios also provides editing and post-production and colour grading.
